got ripped off. what to do

i baught a 06 silverado (the one in my sig) over a year ago, hit in the front.
2nd gear in the trans was out so after i fixed everything else i took it to a well know trans shop around me. dons performance corner in harrisburg pa.
he TALKED how great his work is and how he builds trans for drag racers and that my 4l60e will hold up to 500hp. it was all TALK.
I had him completely rebuild it and do a shift kit. that was on 7-24-08 and cost me $1500 which is alot for me being 18.
awhile ago on 5-27-09 it left me sitting. nothing in the trans worked. took it back to him and he said the pump was out and the converter was blown to peices. so i had him put a 2800 stall converter in which was $300 and the total bill came out to $950
about 2 weeks later on 6-12-09 the same thing happend and it left me sitting again. took it back to him and he fixed it for free. said the pump went out.
yesterday on 9-28-09 it went out again but different. started grinding and went forward in reverse and would barely move until it finally quit moveing all together. took it back to him and he called me saying that the primary gear or something like that broke from abuse and hes not covering one cent of it. i argued with him asking how my stock 5.3 could abuse a trans that he said would hold up to 500hp.

so hes had my truck 4 times now and $2500 of mine plus i have $280 worth of towing fees and now my truck is sitting here with a broken trans.
what can i do about it. take him to court? and try to get him to fix it for free or get my money back? this guy really screwed me over.

with the mods you have a 4l60 should have done much better then that. i guess all you can do is talk to a lawyer. I would send the trans to FLT to what is what about it anyways. he probably didn't do nearly what he said he did to it.

i was kindof leaning towards doing a t-56 6 speed
or maybe just a regular 5 speed

i wanted to see if anyone here had a similar situation and got anything out of it by taking it to court

Exactly, file a claim with the BBB and have them investigate it. If you kept the receipts see how much he charged you in parts and make sure he actually put them in. See how much he charged you for labor and other fees.

Basically try and find a mistake in his paperwork where he didn't do what he said he would do and use that to your advantage.

I can't stand being taken advantage of.

the second time where he charged me $950 he said he covered half the cost of parts... heres what the receit says. so these prices sound right
    remove and inspect- 395
1 pump - his cost 312 what he charged me 156
2800 torque converter- he charged me 295
fluid- his cost 58 what he charged me 28
gaskets- his cost 39 what he charged me 19

and that time i said i might wanna uprgrade to 3000 stall (it was stock before) and then i said i didnt wanna spend the money so keep the stock one. 5 min later i get a call saying my stock one is blown to peices that i need a new one. and i asked for a 3000 and he said you cant put a 3000 in a 4l60e. so he says he put a 2800 in it but it definitely doesnt seem like it. you cant barely notice any stall.

Unfortunately, this is going to be a long battle for you.
Go some where else (salvage) and get it fixed and move on , but keep pressuring the guy to resolve the matter. Don't wait for him to give in or refund your money, your truck will be sitting for a long time!

Oh ya, some more advice, don't let anyone else touch that trans, throw it away, it's probably a POS by now, since he's touched several times.
A lot of times when a rebuild attempt it made, the crappy rebuilder tries something different each time and then is basically lost on what is actually wrong with the trans. I've seen this dozens of times!!!

So, go to the salvage yard, get yourself a low mileage good working 60e, put a shiftkit in it and be done.

Then continue to fight the bastard!

    trust me on this!!!
