    kinda random, but the bolts that fasten the 4l60 flexplate to the crank will work with the 4.8 flywheel, right?
    00 FRC - just top end, exhaust, and a hot-air intake

    I believe I used the same bolts when I went to my 5.3

    but you're still using the same thin flex plate. the flywheel looks to be a little thicker. do you reckon the ones off my 4.3 will work?

    Actually I got a flexplate off of a 5.3 and used the same bolts.

    Do not use flexplate bolts for a flywheel.

    yeah, i talked to a guy yesterday who told me the same thing. he also said the ones from the 4.3 will work, so i guess i'm good to go.

    new bit of joy...

    the black PCM (with 4 plugs) from the V6 will not work with a Gen3 V8. you need the 0411 PCM (silver one with 2 plugs) to fire the coil packs. just found that out from Current Performance when talking about rewiring my harness for the manual trans

    looks like i get to find one of them, too... & spend more money
