With the yank 3600 you will see way more then a stock cam with that thumpr.
We are just pointing to the 220 to be a bit more race wise. If you like the sound you are going in the right direction!

    Welcome,

I've also heard that the thumpers are purely for sound, no performance at all compared to most cams on the market.

did they trash talk u on pt.net??lol thats why i dont post anywhere else...

yea man,i felt a good difference over my stock cam,i just never got things to match with that thumper cam like the gears/stall.i bet if i would have,it would of performed alot better of course.
i was doing a bunch of roll racing when i had it haha.

im still running my 4.8,i was planning on sticking another cam in it till i get a 6.0 or so,till then i was looking into a 216/220 by trick flow, but of course im in it for the performance.

around here in my area everyone likes to roll race from a 25-30 anyways so i guess that will be a plus.. i think im going to go ahead an get the thumpr and ls6 springs..

If you go with the Thumpr, you'll need at least 3k stall, better exhaust, and, preferably, a little more compression. Without additional mods, it will be sluggish in a 4.8.

If you want the nasty idle sound and good performance with your 4.8, took a look at the LS Hot Cam. It has valve timings that will help maintain low-end torque compared to other cams with similar duration. There are sound clips on Youtube for your listening pleasure.

If your not lookin for all out performance your stock stall will work. No sense in spending money on a stall if you're not gonna race it
