If you cannot tell from that, do the same thing only in gear, hold to 2000rpm against the converter and goose the throttle, with the engine loaded the rods will clang fuggin loud if its failed.

    Why not pull the pan on the 4.8 and check it?

    I agree. pulling the pan isn't that hard. And if there are bad ones you can be certain.
