    Sounds like it has the same issue my LS1 had with losing prime. The pressure regulator piston in the oil pump probably hung open and now all the oil it pumps, most of it, is being bypassed and sent back into the pan leaving you with no oil pressure. Have them replace the pump first before writing the engine off.

    Excuse my bitching above, I lost my mind up there. Im fine now. Well, I think me and a friend are gonna swap out shortblocks and in goes the 5.3 w/ my current cam. I dont want my dad payin for it. Hell I might throw in pushrods 75$ and some lts I can get for 100$ while Im at it. My Gma said I can borrow her spare truck for the time being. I still havent told dad yet and dont know how, but technically speaking, arent the rod bearings not my fault even with the cam? The cam doesnt touch the rods and we didnt go near the oiling system when doing my cam. I just dont want him to get the wrong idea thats whats gonna ruin everything and I wanna tell him I can do the swap myself with a friend for cheap and no worries.
