In an accident, that is the most dangerous thing you could do. The PCM is setup to kill the pump a few seconds after the engine dies. If you're in an accident that cuts or breaks the fuel supply line, the fuel will continue to pump until you have the presence of mind to turn the ignition key to the off position otherwise you'll be getting plenty of fuel for a big fire.
