    yanktt3000

    found one for sale on pt.net. Its used with 3k on the stall. Wants 400 shipped for it. Anyone think I should do it?

    here is what the trucks going to have that will accommodate the stall.

    -stock internals
    -sts gt67
    -flt lvl5
    -nelson sd tuned
    -3.42 gears, stock
    -eaton lsd.

    Ask Allen if he thinks it will work with that combination. he's very familiar with the STS and will know if thats a good setup.

    well I put up a post earlier about this and everyone was like do the 3k stall. but allen just threw a 2600 on altons truck. I know altons is a front mount, but it just got me thinking.

    ducky i can tell ya buddy i wouldnt buy a used converter.its so hard too tell if theyre going to be any good save a few more pennies,and get a new one .even if it came out of a so called good tranny ya just dont know,and god forbrid it came out of a blown or just idk what happened to my tranny but i know the torque is good.ya know what im saying.be careful.honestly just bcause my experience with trannies i would never buy a used converter without actually knowing what happened to it in its other life.maybe a buddy or something but thats it.my 2 cents

    Ducky, I'm not saying to buy it, but I bought my Yank used from a guy who just wanted something different. No issues for more than 6 months. Did you ask why he's getting rid of it? Be very cautious but it may be ok

    I mean I was already skeptical about buying a used verter anyway, but I geuss I should just bite the bullet and get a new one anyway. Im just still weary as to what size I need to run. Im gonna eventually go with the same 220 cam that you and foggy are running, but that wont be till probably later on anyway

    It's kinda like buying used gears, you might be able to get away with it but it's not a good idea. Since you're going to buy new, I would definitely talk to Allen or FLT on what stall would work the best.

    Does your STS come with a FMIC? You going to get meth?

    You're going to love it!!!

    is the guy reputable? i sold my yank3000 almost a year ago to a member here, (foregot who it was lol) but appearantly its working fine for him.. but didnt have but a few hundred miles on it. theres nothing wrong with buying a used stall hell i bought txsilverado's and he bought it from someone else if i am not mistaken, but bottom line i trusted txsilv thats why i bought it, it helps to know the seller or at lease know something about them ... good luck on whatever you decide also i woulsnt see a problem with this size stall with your set up ...

    yeah its getting the front mount IC and meth at the same time. So cooling will not be a factor at all

    yeah I know what you mean. I dont know the guy, he was on pt.net. I know what you mean about trusting other guys though. Funny you mention txsilvy bc i bought his old 5.3 from him and havent had a problem with it period. Knock on wood.
