    EGR removal on a 01 silverado

    I was wondering if anybody knows what I would have to do if I removed my EGR system from truck?

    Have it turned off in the PCM.

    Yup, once turned off you can remove the harness all the way back to the PCM and plug the intake.

    Is there a big gain or pick up with taken the EGR off the motor?
    Slowest in Oklahoma...

    Small gain, if any. It is mainly used to block off hot exhaust gasses from re-entering the intake manifold to raise IATs...

    I did not notice any difference when I removed mine.
    I recently put it back on for my vehicle inspection. When I had it retuned, we did not even have to change timing.
