I wouldn't to a higher ratio rocker setup for stock internals. If you get a cam, valve springs, and pushrods--you then might wanna consider a higher ratio rocker setup. But don't go too high--unless you wanna get new valve covers! I think you can get by going up to a 1.85 and still have them fit under the stock valve covers.

thanks for the info man!
think i will have any problems with anything if just swap my stock rockers out to a set of aftermarket 1.85s? like spring problems or anything?
I am not going to try to do the math, but you need to make sure that the stock spring rates can handle the .15 difference in ratio. Like I said, I wouldn't do it on a stock valvetrain...I would at least get aftermarket springs, pushrods, and retainers.

the stock springs will handle 1.85s. if you go with the comp kit you will need 7.4in hardened pushrods bcuz the guide plates eat the stock ones. hope this helps!

Stick with stocks, the fulcrum is already roller bearing. You'd gain very minimal at higher RPM with a roller tip.

Let's face it, the red hair... makes 'em wet.
I would say the same until the needle bearings started falling out of them and destroying engines. Some company has started installing bushings. Another is rebuilding them with better quality bearings. The stock rockers are a great design beside the bearings in them.
