    Lifting heads at 19 psi?

I have a friend running a 408 with L92 heads. He is running an F1 supercharger in a 57 chevy. He us running 19 psi and keeps lifting the right bank head? The block is fully studded also. He was wondering what heads had a thicker deck to keep this from happening?

L92s have the thinnest deck of all the stock heads... But not sure why he is having so much issue. I've seen guys run 18 psi on them with no issue. But to answer your question, any of the other heads will be thicker, 317s are the best for boost, buy they are cathedral port heads. His best bet is to go with some good aftermarket heads. Hope this helps

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......

its more prone to lift the passenger side cause of how the cooling passages are, its also more common to over heat the cylinder on the driver side as thats the dead head of the system. To help aid in lifting a head you MUST keep the motor cool and when i mean cool im talking coolant temps in the 160s. Running standard temps with now a forced hot air going into motor will cause issues. the cooler the air the more dense it is which will help keep cylinder pressures down. The L92s do have a thinner dek but should hold if everything is in order for most part. Once you start making big power that is when other variables come into play

i agree with keeping everything in check but tuning can also have something to do .

6 bolt heads and 1/2 studs are what i did to prevent this.

L92 heads are fairly notorious for pushing water.

i wasnt talking to you chase, i had TTY bolts and never lifted a head or pushed water on my old setup. Like Jon stated tune is important, if you have a tuner that isnt aware of every thing going on in the buld then its time for a new tuner. There are reasons why certain vehicles run without issues and why others have problems with head lifting or etc.
