4.3 to 5.3 Conversion

I have a 2000 Chevy Standard cab with a 4.3 vortec that I want to convert to a 5.3. Can anyone give me details on this swap? What all will i need to do this swap and any tips on where to find deals for all the conversion stuff? Thanks

spend the little extra and drop in an ls1 out of a camaro or vette. you will be alot happier. you can find them on ebay or at local yards. usaully can get a complete conversion, engine and trans for around 4000.00

Yeah and $10g's worth of other crap later and it may just fire.

Honestly though, nothing swaps over in that conversion. So if you are going to go through the hassle of slapping in a 5.3 it may just be worth it to save up for another year and get the LS1.

Oh and almost forgot... HOLY MOTHER OF GOD YOU HAVE A SWEET A$$ TRUCK!!

I'd really like to see someone do this swap. Whether it's a 5.3L or an LS1, as long as it's a NBS and the swap is a v6 to a v8.
Let's see. You'll need another PCM, one from a '00 truck will work, that had a v8.
I'm not sure , but engine mounts and a v8 harness. I'm not sure if it will plug into your existing firewall and body harness , but I don't see why not.
As far as the engine, nothing will swap over, like said above, but you can get a complete one pretty cheap.

keep us updated, seeing how much you have in your truck, from the pic, i'd say it's worth it,
