I just put LEDs in mine because one of my HID bulbs changed color. They are bright, but I just installed a 20" light bar and wired it with my fog lights, so I'm not quite sure how much visible light they put off compared to the hids.

LEDs are more for looks than actual light output.

When I turn my light bar on, I can turn my headlights off and not tell a difference. And it's only a single row bar, not a double. And mine is hidden in the grill. Check my garage, I have pics of it there

Like people have said, light output is going to be poor with LEDs in a foglight housing vs. an HID. HIDs aren't meant for fog light housings either, I've had them, and they're bright, but it sucks for people who are driving toward you when you have them on. I'd just stick with halogens, they work much better for the intended purpose... fog.

To answer your question, if you're going for looks - LEDs, light output and looks - HIDs, to not be a dink and have good light output - halogens.

LEDs SUCK for fog lights. Ran them in my G8 and they had VERY LITTLE light output, but looked really good!
