    cam suggestions

i have read in many posts in many forums that there are better cams than the Z06 cams to go into a 5.3

    z06 cam
    '01, 385hp p/n 12560950 duration 204/211 valve lift 0.525/.0525 lsa 116

    '02-'04, 405hp p/n 12565308 duration 214/218 valve lift 0.555/0.551 lsa 117.5

im putting a 5.3 in my 97 chev sub but i wanted to change the cam before i install the engine

    Can someone please suggest something?

I would just get a simple off the shelf cam in the 212/218 range if you don't want to run a stall. Matching springs and hardened push rods are a given. The 214/218 cam is a good option. If you are willing to run a stall then you can easily jump to a 22x/22x cam of your choosing. To get a really specific cam we need more specs on your build. Supporting mods, gears, boltons, future plans, etc. The Z06 cam isn't worth the time unless it's free or really cheap.

That is real easy then 212/218 low lift LSA 115 however the idle will be more based on the tune than anything.
However, I would keep the truck intake as with the LS6/z06 intake you will gain up top but lose bottomend.

Idk the exact specs, but I will look for them. When ordering it just says low lift. I would guess in the .52x/.52x range.
