trans from blazer fit into truck?

well i just purchased a 99 1500 4x4 with 128k miles. pretty stoked about it. i bought it will a trashed transmission. i consider the truck to be pretty rare. its an ext cab short bed 4x4 with a 4.8/auto. has all power interior thats cloth. but the 4x4 lever is in the floor not push button. i have a transmission out of a 1999 chevy blazer its 4x4 i know its good. the only thing is, it has a push button 4x4 t case. can i swap this trans into this truck without any problems? they are both 1999 4l60e's the blazer had a 4.3 and i have a 4.8. will it swap right in and will my t-case go in? its only temporary as i dont have the money to swap a 80e in right now. thanks in advance!

i think a 60e is a 60e, you might have to swap out bells and tails. are you wanting to swap t cases? if so good luck with the wiring, i would give that idea up. i would check a dealer or shop b4 i got started and dont use the 4.3 tq converter on the 4.8

Was the blazer fullsize version or are you talking trailblazer. The bell housing will bolt to the LS based engine with one bolt hole missing. You will need to get the flat style flex plate, longer crankshaft bolts and flywheel spacer in order to use the old style trans in the LS engine. CrateEngineDepot.com has the flexplate assembly for a very reasonable price. I will bet money the v6 4L60 trans will die a quick death behind the LS engine.

    You asked transmission right here.

You want to put the 4.3L Blazer trans and transfer case into the C1500? Why not just put just the transmission in with a flat flex plate and call it good then you won't have to do any conversions.

I BELIEVE the bell housings AND tailshafts are different on the s10's vs fullsizes. You could have both swapped over from fullsize to s10 trans...but the tailshaft involves pulling it all apart. Honestly, I would try to sell the s10 trans, and just pick up a fullsize trans from the boneyard if you can't afford a rebuild.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum
