    just got a hold of an aluminum block

    a rare breed its a 5.3 aluminum block stock 3.78 bore got it for a great price it came with stock pistons and rods no crank no heads im going to be aiming for 400+rwhp ill post pics up soon

    Its gonna take a decent sized cam and at least some type of head work to come close to 400rwhp....not impossible, but my ls6 heads 232 cam 6.0L hit 403 rwhp with a ls6 manifold......

    nothing a little cash cant take care of i already have a set of 243s ill be doing the portwork myself, a custom grind cam, fast 92/92 setup that should get me there if not close to it

    Thats the cam ove looked at for my truck... Fastrt on pt.net hit 377 on 5.3 worked heads and 226/230 598/600 112+4 eps cam... Other lil stuff... Tbat was on mild tune

    whats so rare about the aluminum 5.3L? didnt alot of gen 4 trucks come with that motor? just asking because i have a alum 5.3L in my 82 c10 and would be cool to know i have a rare motor. its stock but runs strong has 10:1 comp ratio 799 heads 30# injectors 87mm tb, its rated at 315hp and 338ft-lbs of torque. im very interested on how your build goes so keep us updated.

    those blocks are hard to come by
