Hi, you made a post on LS1 in reply to my "CPS relearn" blah blah blah.

Now, this wasn't from one of your tunes, but it would be great if you could share some more expertise and tell me if the CPS out of range (something like that) code is losing me power and fuel economy? It does smell a little rich but then again I've got no cats.

    Thanks!

    Hey Derek,

According to the articles and docs I have, it's not supposed to, but I have had one customer say his idle was off and after the relearn he noticed an improvement. If I didn't have the docs in front of me, I'd say it does affect it. It has to do with position of the crank, and that seems vital to me.
If you can find someone with a Genisys, TechII or similar scanner, they can easily perform the special test.
I drove my truck for two years before performaning the relearn and I didn't notice any difference. I know, two years hahahah,
The smell is from having no cats, you're proably not ever going to get rid of that smell, it's like adding a healthy cam to your engine, you're just gonna smell a little more gas.

    good luck,

    allen

So, Allen, I smell alittle bit after the new cam and no cats, so I'm most likely not running a little rich. It isn't bad at all, so I'm glad I saw this post. It does, however, seem to be getting a little worse on surging coming to a stop sign or light and going into reverse. I really hope the retune gets it straight, because I'm extremely pleased with the tune and the swap as a whole. It isn't far from perfect!!! I know a plug change will probably help things too, since I recently found out my expensive ass plugs are total crap. I'm swapping to the NGK TR55s Friday, so that can't do anything but help. Thanks again.
