    Hookin up the fuel

    Where do you get those pieces that snap on to the fuel lines on the 5.3 motor and adapt them to threads so you can run your braided fuel lines?

    Edit: Is this them? If so how do they work do you cut off the flare/lip and these are like a slip fitting?

    Whats better about those then the ones I originally posted? Also where can I get fuel lines long enough to reach back to my frame rails?

    They're better at draining money out of your bank account.

    They are quick connects with rubber seals to slip onto the fuel rails and take no tools to remove the fittings from the fuel line. The others use brass ferrules that clamp down around the fuel rail and sometimes become a permanent part of the fuel rail.

    Yeah Ill be a cheapo and go with the cheaper ones, I don't think Ill be disconnecting the fuel lines too often anyways.

    Without starting a new thread I am wondering how you adapt the tranny cooler lines to the rad in my 97. I talked to one guy who said just cut both somewhere about halfway and then splice them with rubber hose and clamps?

    You can do that. There isn't a lot of pressure running through the system, just use good quality hose to join it back together. You could just use your stock lines and put it back together. What are you changing in the transmission/radiator requiring you to change lines?

    I am using the tranny from the 02 truck and hooking it up to the 97 rad.

    was the 97 trans an automatic? If the fittings were different, pull them out of the old trans and put them in the new one. Threaded vs quick connect? They are both 60e transmissions, correct?
