Did you clean or replace them?
Replace the intake manifold gaskets.
So what was your trans linkage problem? Very cool that you got it running! Thanks for the thread very informative!
Thanks for posting your experiences. Very interested in how the BCM integration will go. Question. Did you special order your harness from Motec or is it their 'off the shelf' Jeep swap harness?
Before you remove that pulley, double check the belt routing. Does Holley offer any information on the routing?
The TCM is in the transmission already. Get yourself a compatible PCM so they can communicate with each other.
So you removed the complete original engine/ trans harness? What is the gain? Will everything be integrated like gauges, cruise, etc? Just curious didn't know that this route was available. ...
Ask them about the transmission. Cant hurt. Make sure you talk to the same person you did the first time. How they handle it will let you know weather you should deal with them ever again
Check if you are getting oil up to the rocker arms. Cant imagine why the plugs would need to be in. Can you put a mechanical gauge on to check for pressure?
That would help me too. AC bracket for original compressor
Go to North Dakota if you want that type of work. Just good luck on finding a place to live..
Sure sounds like those rods were messed up! Are you getting new stock rods or stepping up to some aftermarket rods?
IMO you should be able to just replace the bolts. Just follow the recommended torque specs.
Big end of the connecting rods are 'cracked' at the foundry instead of machining to create the rod caps. This 'rough' parting surface gives more stability to the rod assembly.
Dont waste your money on the pancake compressor! It wont have enough air capacity to use any air wrench for any duration. Better to get a 10 to 15 gallon compressor.
Well got a chance to check out the LY6 and 6L90E that I bought to swap into my '97 silverado. All looks good except the DBW throttle has the mounting tabs (for the bolts) broken off.
Question...
Hey 88! Where in Montana are you located? I'm in Miles City. Good to see another Montanan here!
Is it possible to delete the 97 computer and still retain cruise control and ABS? Would also like to know for my 97 swap.
Thanks for the link! What do you think of their headers? Imagine they only work with their mount setup. Really like that trans crossmember, lots of room for pipes.
Already updated the rear diff...
Curious about the converter.. Thought with the low gearing it would be ok. What am I overlooking? Thinking about maybe a Mast cam but nothing to radical. Do you have a recommendation?

Well today I purchased a LY6 and 6L90 pull out combo for my 97 Silverado. I am sure to have a ton of questions as I go; but for starters ..
What motor mounts do you recommend?
Who would you...
Thanks for the replies! Guess one of my main concerns is the size of the transmission. I think there would be enough room in the tunnel but I dont know for sure.? Sure would be nice to get the...
I have a '97 1500 2WD and am considering a swap to a 6.0 -6L80E drop out combination complete. Does anyone have any experience with this swap? Any fit problems with this trans? Shifter to use,...
