Hey guys/gals. Been quite some time since I've been on around here. This is probably old fodder for alot of you but looking for some tuning advice on my 2500HD 4x4. Truck is bone stock with 205,000...
Sweeeeeet.
As for reusing your original driveshaft, I don't think that will be possible with the 4L80E. The 80E is a longer transmission, and all else being equal, will require a shorter driveshaft. The front...
Hi and welcome to the site. You may want to stick to an engine of a similar year. Not sure of what year, but they changed reluctor ring teeth and that means you need the proper PCM to run the engine...
Hi and welcome to the site. I too did a '93 swap with a 4L60E so I wouldn't have to mess with the driveshafts(4X4). You have to use a newer transmission, I believe a '96 or '97 up because the...
I can't speak from experience on ICT products, but I ordered standard plates to use with my clamshell mounts. When it was said and done and had the trans mounted, the crossmember holes were 1" away...
I used a '99 radiator.. I bought it new and it is wider than the original. I ended up going to the junk yard to get the rubber seats and top brackets to make it work. When I was there, I did see a...
Concerning the linkage, I had to cut and weld the original bracket that mounts on the transmission shift shaft to accommodate the shift switch which my '93 transmission did not have.
Ditto. I used the Delphi brand. Worked like a charm.
Great pics. You're off to a good start.
I wouldn't worry about the head gaskets. I would definitely change the rear main seal, oil pan, valve cover, intake and valley gaskets.
The only thing I did with my engine was the rear main...
Yeah, I agree. They make it sound good by playing up the windage problem(?) of the LSX engine platform. Haven't really researched the subject on LS engine windage problems.
Hi and welcome to the site. Lots of guys here can answer most if not all questions you may have about your swap. Keep us informed and don't forget the pics. Good luck!!!
Looks like you're off to a great start. Keep the pics coming and keep up the good work.
Definitely interesting. I would have to think it's a costly piece.
Nice looking truck. Makes me wish I still had my '67 long bed. Would have been a great truck for a swap. Live and learn, right?
Hi and welcome to the site. Sounds like your swap will be similar to mine. Make sure you grab the exhaust system too. You can never have too many pieces of the puzzle to get the engine up and running.
You can always check Flea-Bay. Sometimes deals can be had there. Good luck!!!!!
I actually wanted to use the '99 cruise module. I took it from the donor truck but it was defective. After multiple attempts to wire it and not have it work, I figured I'd try the '93 module...
My engine is a '99 6 liter and it's PCM. I will have to track down the wiring for you. I used the '99 GM truck service manual wiring diagram along with the '93 Chevy truck wiring diagram manual to...
First off, welcome to the site. Lots of guys here with lots of knowhow. Hope your swap goes well. Good Luck!!!!
My '93 wires are different colors. I didn't use the buffer since the PCM has the buffer included inside it(or doesn't use it at all). I ran the cruise wires from the PCM directly to the cruise...
VSS goes to the PCM to inform it of vehicle speed. The PCM then sends a signal to the speedo on another wire based on the info it receives from the VSS.
I ran the wire directly to the gauge...
Feel free to PM me if you have questions. It's been a while since I've done my swap, but I will try to answer any questions you may have.
