They looked like they would last forever. I am hoping with a converter, the tune and minor bolt on's I can run in the 14's at least.

The main reason I am considering the Thorley headers is that they are kept in stock at a local shop. Shipping to Alaska is very expensive so the cost benefit isn't as great shipping cheaper headers....
Nice numbers, sounds great too!
I need help from the more knowledgeable folk on this forum about my next purchase. Currently on my 2008 5.3 I have airaid intake, Magnaflow exhaust and a Nelson mail order tune. A local shop has...
Got my tune today! Installed it in 10 minutes. Got the key coded and took it for a drive. After about 25 miles of cruising then a few full throttle pulls from a stop to about 70 MPH I am so happy...
I will have to keep and eye on this one. I am starting to get a crazy idea to road race/autocross my truck at some point and would love to have the adjust-ability of a 4 link.
I am trying to get to Texas, uncle same just needs to tell me so haha. but most likely i will be there, by next winter. Winter by Alaska standards it will feel like summer lol.
Looks like a great/fast family hauler lol. I just built a cat back with the same magnaflow and love it for my DD. Near silent on cruise control and a little bark when I get on it. I was thinking...
Sounds PERFECT. Its loud for my DD but if my truck is ever not my DD I would love this sound.
Doing everything in my power to PCS to San Antonio this summer. I have always wanted to run the Texas mile even with an average vehicle. I am also assuming you lucky guys and gals down in Texas can...
91, we can only get 90 here in Alaska., blah. Also noticed the shop that did my exhaust keeps Doug Thorley headers in stock for my truck... a few more paychecks maybe haha.
I hate the fiber glass bed cover that came on my truck because its hard to use it for truck things... but it seems like a great place for a fuel cell and nitrous....
I know I am probably grasping at straws here. But I see A LOT of Texas on this forum... nothing wrong with that I am trying to go there next. Anyone here in the great white north of Alaska that...
I also built a cat back exhaust with a magnaflow muffler and 3" pipes so I need to call them and change my mods lol I hope the tune is as good as people are saying. I also ordered a wide band O2...
Ignore last post, Just ordered a Nelson Tune.
I went to check out that shop that des dyno tuning and they were telling me about the diablo in tune. It seems like until I get heavy into building it might be a good deal. Since I can data log...
Conekilller, you dont happen to autocross do you? I knew a guy a long time ago that had a conekiller sticker on his back window for clipping cones with the back wheel in the sloloms lol. I just got...
I was not familiar with either of those tuners so comparing them doesnt really help lol. Thank you for the replies though as I am new to the LSX platform. The search function finnally started...
Is HPtuners what the big tuners use? I come from the VW world. I used to tune with Unitronic and eurodyne software.
I found a shop in town that will dyno tune with EFI live. I do not know anything about EFI live so I had some questions. Does EFI live allow adjustment of torque management and all that? I was...
I have not run nitrous on any GM vehicle but when I was building VWs for a living I build a couple nitrous motors running water/meth. It was a great setup as we could tune a great 91 or 93 octane...
I don't think I wrote that very clearly, I was referring to the OP's truck running 13.6 and was looking forward to doing the same mods to see similar numbers haha.
This welcome thread got out of hand rather quickly lol.
Finally got around to reading this thread in its entirety. I have to say It put a huge grin on my face :D. When I bought my new to me 2008 Extended cab 2WD I was thinking getting into the mid 14's...
My name is medic because I am a medic of sorts, and 455 because since I was a small child my dream engine was the Buick GS 455 that my grandfather had.
