Depends on how hard you plan to push it. Maybe someone with more knowledge than me will chime in on this.
I run 3/8" supply and return. But I just have a stock cammed 5.3. Wanted to do some type...
Welcome to the forum.
Wish I could. But I have to shave for my job. Have to wear full face respirators to work in airborne radiation areas.
I'm planning on building a turbo kit for my 99. I'll be keeping a look out for used parts when the time comes to help keep the budget in check. I have an 80e ready to go in, so I should have no...
I've got an old 100 mph cluster out of my 99 if you're interested in those. Been sitting on the shelf for a couple years. Worked perfectly when I took it out.
No, not on that forum. We have a few close to us. Twitty's Mudbog and Thunder Valley Mudplex being the closest. Haha, I know those are some big shoes to fill but you got to have a goal, right?
West Georgia Mud Park. Wish we had something like that closer to me so I could ride my boys. All we have is straight pits, no passengers allowed. I'm ready to build something on rockwells, then I'll...
You should make a thread for this so that it can be stickied in the conversion section. Good job. It's nice to see someone think outside the box and save hundreds in the process.
.120 over makes it the same size as an ls1. Just look for ls1 pistons.
You can use 4.8 flat top pistons for the bump in compression. Stock rods will be fine. Get some ported 5.3 heads milled to around 60cc. The bump in compression will help your low end torque. A cam...
Looking good, man. Keep it up. :thumb:
I don't have any good water pumps or are you asking about the 6 water pump bolts? I can check on the bolts but it's doubtful that I have bracket bolts. I'll let you know.
Pistons and rods sold.
I had the same problem with my blazer. Quite a difference with ~50 more hp.
If you still have cathedral port heads, you'll need one off a tbss or gen IV 5.3/4.8. If your throttle body is drive by cable, you'll need an aftermarket throttle body since gen IVs are drive by wire.
Don't know much about the iron heads, but I would get some 243/799 heads if I needed heads for the bump in compression. But since you have 317s already, just mill them .030".
I decided on keeping the exhaust on and not running straight pipes. My exhaust is exactly like yours except for the cat and rear o2. It sounds damn good too which is one reason I decided to leave it...
No, it's not a daily driver. It's my mud truck/blazer. I was planning on running a foot of pipe off the collectors and was wondering if it would be enough. Seems like it may be if you're running a 6"...
I plan on taking the exhaust off my blazer in favor of straight headers. How long of an exhaust pipe do I need to have after the collectors so that the O2s don't go crazy?
Yeah, with over 100 more hp and torque, it ought to move much better. It's something that I've been wondering about for some time. If the rear end ever goes out, I'll step it up to 4.10s and a...
Just get some cheap, ugly ass wheels.
I know gear questions get asked a lot but I've searched everywhere and couldn't get a definitive answer for my question.
Currently I have 3.73s with a 30" tire. I will be swapping in an 80e and...
Agreed. Good seller. Thanks for the harness and good luck with the rest.
BUMP! Oil pan, windage tray, pickup tube and bolts sold. For some reason I can't edit my original post. Open to trades too.
