This thread helped alot when I swapped the 4.3 to 5.3 in my truck. I gathered all my parts for months and me, Banker099, and another buddy were able to swap the V6 to V8 in about 12-14ish total hrs....

I really want this thing... That's a far drive though if I end up not liking it

I shift my stock 80e at 6400ish. I have 3.42s also. 1st-60-65ish 2nd 10* and 3rd... when I let out. I think it's been over 140 but that was with the last owner

Only clearance issues you will have may be the Y-pipe. The headers tuck up above the frame rails so no worries. I ran a 4/7 drop with pacesetter LT's no problem
