What kind of wire would I need to buy to build my own harness, and where would I find it? The one I have is a mess and want to clean up the engine by re-routing wires and relocating the PCM.

I had a similar problem. I had a bad ground and the O2's were bad.
X2 on not adjusting the gap.
When I got my harness back, it was wrapped with electrical tape. And I'm noticing that it doesnt like heat at all.
The guy who did my stuff is out of Arkansas. I think his business is called LSX harnesses. Ill see about the evap stuff. And I did find a couple places where wires were resting on the engine.

I just finished a 5.3 - 4L60E conversion into a 1996 Sierra. I need a little info on a couple of things. These are mostly "is this normal" questions...
1. The damn thing idles like crap. It shakes...
I took a small hammer and tapped on the rails. Bam!!!! It fired up. Thanks for the help!
out of all the things involved I tried to save money on my harness. BIG mistake. I paid $450 for a POS. Now I am going to cough up another $650 for a good one. Most people use Nelson performance....
well, I went to the parts house with my radiator under arm. They had the fittings I needed for the radiator. I cut the hard lines and put compression / barbed fittings and it worked like a charm......
also, there are a hundred other little things that will add up to make the swap happen. all of the wiring issues, fuel pump / lines, computers, motor mounts....
I wasn't sure if it would fit.
I was trying to not spend the money. But I think an aftermarket cooler is the way to solve it.
Can I just leave the radiator holes open?
I have a question on how to tie in my trans lines to my radiator. I put an 05 5.3 and 4l60e in my 96 sierra. I am using my 96's radiator and the trans lines from the 05. The 05 uses different...
if it isn't broken.... unless the 406 is on its way out, I would keep it until it keels over.
thanks guys. after i get home from my boys wrestling tournament, i'll start tearing it down.
stock pump from the 96 thru a vette filter to the stock 5.3 fuel rail and injectors.
ok. i didn't pull any plugs but i did go out and spray some starter fluid in the t.b. and it fired up and ran for about 5 seconds.
Ahhh, I see. My motor has been sitting for a year that I know of so that's where I'll start. Thanks.
This guys out of Arkansas.
I'm not much of an electrical whiz. What's the easiest way to check for spark?
The guy who did my computer just removed the rear O2's, vats, etc; but nothing performance wise.
i am having a problem. I cant get my truck to start after swapping an L33 into a 96 Sierra.
I am wondering if not having my O2 sensors installed will prevent it from starting?
It cranks, and I...
i am having a similar problem. did you ever find a solution?
So I solved the problem, it was really simple. I grounded that set of grounds to the coil bracket on the valve cover. Apparently, this is a bad idea. I moved the ground to the alternator bracket and...

Thanks for the help and advice
