Wow I feel bad for not updating this thread with what has been going on with the truck. Since the last post, I have been side swiped and been repainted AND have done some upgrades to the 5.3. However...
I have raised the idle up manually with the throttle body idle screw. This has helped the issue a little with the stumbling at idle with the A/C on. I still have an issue with the truck dying on me...
I've had my truck swapped with a h/c/i 5.3 for a while now and have driven it everywhere with no real issues....aside from these 2 and I've had enough of just dealing with it.I utilized the Holley R4...

Yes I did get the speedo to work. This is that connector that I ran some wires through to utilize my '90 under dash fuse block so I didn't have to add one under the hood anywhere. ...
Sooo I got most of the issues figured out with one "fix"....I forgot to connect a connector. Specifically the white connector next to the original PCM. So everything is running great now! I've been...
The reason to go with the 87 C10 tank is because it's already baffled for fuel injection internally from the factory.
Everytime I see that bracket, it makes me think that GM should have done it that way the first time....
On your frame there are mutiple crossmember bolt holes from the factory to choose from. There will be no need to drill new holes in your frame. ^^dido on the tranny mount
Just read through everything, WOW!! This is just a great build! That's a good paint job, regardless of whether you're a first timer or not. I've got some questions though....You mentioned very early...
I'm just here to learn! This is going to be an interesting swap....:tacos::tacos:
I agree 2k is a little much, I'd go 1250-1500 all day though. I've done 3 different LS C10 swaps and would like to add this bit of info....Your life will be a lot easier if you go with an '87 TBI...
First crank up of the swap!

It's not really poweed through the old ECM, it's self powered so to speak. The A/C control box controls everything A/C related. I didn't remove/alter/ no nothing to the old ECM. The only thing I did,...
First off....Hang in there buddy, it's all worth the smiles in the end!
1> I swapped in a cammed 5.3 in my '90 RCSS, ummm yes mucho satisfied
2> Yes; I forgot an ignition wire to "wake up" the...
Well....here's a little update on my swap....Long story short; I have to get my rear end temporarily rebuilt so I can drive it home Labor Day weekend (6-7 hr drive), get another tune, and try to...
I'm doing a write up on the Holley LS A/C bracket because there was little to no information about someone using truck accessories with their install.
I have done 3 swaps for guys with A/C...

A lot of people have been asking me why I didn't paint more under the hood copper.....Reason being is because the outside of the truck only has a little bit of copper, and I wanted to resemble that...
To answer the CAI question....I seriously just went to Ebay and typed in 99-06 Silverado CAI, organized it from least to most expensive, then picked out the one I liked. I didn't have to do a single...
It's just a cheap eBay 99+ Silverado one.
Well it's time for me to show mine off now.... Haven't cleaned it yet, and also later on down the road I'm going to relocate the coils and put the smoothed over intake that I'm working on now....
Heater hoses all routed, used spring clamps throughout to make it look as factory as possible.
