Don't carve this in stone, but from what I know, the 4wd axles will be longer than the 2wd. I know the 4wd runs a wheel with an offset similar to a fwd car where the 2wd runs (at least the OBS) runs...
You REALLY need to just go with 20"s. They're not that much more, and tires aren't either. I've got 17" Budniks on mine, and they look tiny! There really isn't that much of a price difference but...
