Does anyone else on here with a 2014 or 2015 Silverado or sierra have a rattle in the dashboard coming from the plastic panel that houses the defroster vent and ambient light sensor? it can be heard...
So I am having to replace the drivers side headlamp assembly on my new (less than 1,000 miles) 2014 Silverado. Came out of walmart to find a carts handle had hit the truck and cracked the housing....
Just picked this up last night. 2014 Silverado LT Z71 crew cab.

My truck just hit 6,000 miles with 9% oil life left. I've never had any of those tested and always 87 octane unleaded.
That's what I'm getting at. Should I spend the $40-$50 to change my own oil that way I know what I'm getting, or let the dealership for free and not know what they're putting in? When I called and...
I have always changed my own oil using Mobil1. When we purchased my 2013 Silverado Z71, the salesman (personal friend) snuck in the service plan for free oil changes and tire rotations for 3 years....

I think I will probably go with SS nuts, bolts, and washers. Rivets sound like a PITA.
Last question I promise. What size rivets do I need if I decide not to use bolts? 1/4 inch?
Is there a certain way to remove the rivets other than drilling them out?
hardware?
George C, I ordered the parts I needed, but I was looking at the parts diagram, and there is a rivet shown. Where does that rivet go? It's # 9 and have it listed as an end cap rivet.
Good to know, and thanks again! I was afraid rivets would have to be drilled out.
It's seriously that easy??? Wow! Thanks! You just saved me about $500.00
If you're looking at the rear of the truck, it would be the right side chrome part and the black plastic in the middle. How are the pieces held together?
So thanks to the snow and ice here in Missouri, I slid backwards into a small retaining wall and messed up my rear bumper. Called the dealership who wants $795 for a new one. Went online and found...
Didn't think about putting relays in. Thanks.
I've seen pictures of 08-13 silverados with HID headlights and am wondering how they have them since the DRL's use the low beams. Any ideas?
Ducky, this is what I'm wanting to go with.

So there is no need to loosen the sway bar, control arms, etc? Just jack up the front, take wheels off, remove factory shock bolts and put the new stuff in?
I've been going back and forth about installing a rough country 2" level on my truck. I've looked at the install instructions along with an install video in YouTube. From what I can see, it looks...
Gotcha! Won't be boosting or modding my engine in any way, so I guess it really doesn't matter. Thanks for the info.
How can I tell what transmission I have in my 2013 5.3 liter Z71? I know is the 6 speed automatic, but is it a 6L80e or 6L90e? Also, in peoples opinions/facts, which is the better block? Cast iron...
I got around to checking his truck a couple days after I made this thread. the dealership he bought it from did the safety inspection themselves and passed it. When I pulled the calipers off the...
