...on the WRX! I FINALLY, after weeks of torture, my damn turbo -> downpipe gasket came in the mail along with my down pipe -> midpipe gasket.

I took off both rearward cats and the crap 2.25" exhaust system for a bellmouth pipe from Invidia. This thing is huge and after the bellmouth goes to a full 3" pipe. Had it JetHot coated with their 2000* coating. The turbo is considerably louder now too under part throttle acceleration. And yes I am cat free on it after the turbo!

After the pipe was tossed on, I installed the old Unichip mapped for the TXS Stage 2. Runs 16.5 PSI through the midrange and tapers off to ~14 PSI at redline...so now the lil WRX is running about 320hp with the extent of its mods. Not too bad for about $700 in parts!

BTW...I still have the stock muffler on to be a sneaky bastard. The stock muffler doesn't become a restriction until Stage 4 usually.

I just had to share my joy with all...so thanks for reading.

You gonna get that thing to the track anytime soon and run it. I bet it runs pretty damn good with that power to weight ratio

    congrats on the mods,

It runs sooo much better now that I've put about 150miles on it. Also the part throttle boost threashold (sp?) changed from 60% to 40%...meaning at 40%TPS I can get over 10psi whereas when stock I'd have to go to 60% TPS to get over 10psi...sorta like a higher STR on a converter.

I figure it has about 300-320 hp and tips the scales at ~3100lbs. I figure it runs low 14's from a dead stop w/o brake torquing. It is insanely faster than before.

LOL...I actually laid the smack down on a 99+ GT two nights ago. Car had an offroad H pipe and Flows (like they all do) and we went from a 20mph roll to about 65MPH. I pulled from that mofo like he was standing still.

This was by I30 and Belt Line area by GP Ford. This thing is insanely faster two days later. I'll prolly have a header+upipe as well as a big ass front mount intercooler by beginning of the year.

...mkay off to study for now. Have to give a speech tomorrow and a business managment test too.

Man thats cool.. I got a buddy that built a 01, I believe, wrx all I can say is buy the bigger turbo and get in touch with some guys from Australia named MRT.(I hope thats ok for me to do considering they arent a sponser, If not sorry about that, please edit.) He couldnt get any traction and was running like 13.50's. from a roll he smoked a 12.30 rx7. He was out running almost all of the f-bodies around. Those suburu's are just sick. He had 18s on it and was set up suspension and everything like the rally cars. He left the interior alone though. and that was all with out

Keep us informed about it man.

It is a nice vehicle, but sure lacks some creature comforts. It desperatly needs sound deadening, their paint/clear coating is very poor, and the body panels ding up very easily...glad it's the beater.

I forsee come the spring/end of year a header+uppipe to have very limited lag. Then prolly a stall converter. Then front mounted intercooler. Then a PE1414 turbo (18psi by 2400rpms! all the way to redline)
