    The "new" Ipad...

Well I am looking at Ipad's, because unfortunately other tablets can't be used with my job. I have to get an Ipad so I have paciently waited for the "new" Ipad to come out. Well the day has arrived and in my opinion its kind boring...
    Specs
    IPad 2 vs "new" IPad
    dualcore quadcore
    HDscreen superHD screen
    Good camera little better camera
    3G 4G
    $349(refurb) $499
    $529 3G $629 4G
What do you guys think I should get? I am leaning towards the $349 unit being so cheap.

A bunch of people I work with just traded there old ones for the new one, fortunate for me I bought one of there old ones for $200 so I'm happy. The screen is a retinal display which is sweet if your into media, but to use for work I think it's a waste. They also dropped the price of the IPAD 2 to $399 non wifi, and that is brand new not refurbished.

yeah but whats the reason to spend the extra 50 for a new vs refurb? They have the same warranty....

Why not just get one of those tiny laptops?

I for no reason dislike Apple products

Believe me I am with you, normally I do just about anything to avoid Apple for no real reason, but this time its a must. I am one of the 1in500 people that actually needs an Ipad for something besides entertainment.

On that note if anyone wants to sell their old working IPad I will pay $250 for it. Just throwing that out there.

One thing to keep in mind with a refurbished Ipad or anything electronic really, the battery is an inportant factor unless you want to stay plugged in all the time. I bought a refurbished Iphone last year for $7.00 through AT&T, yeah it was a good deal but the battery only lasted about 3 hours. I guess it's personal preference really, good luck with your choice!

Sweet man that is why I will most likely end up with an Ipad2. I really could prolly make due with a first gen.

Bumpity. Anyone out there? I know we got plenty more tech geeks on here than just me.

I have the original I pad no problems what's so ever don't see the benifits of the other models besides the front camera. I have had mine for over a year and use it almost daily.

The only big advantage that I see is the multicore processor and the 4G otherwise they aren't incredibly different. I am thinking the Ipad2 16GB will fulfill my needs. I am going to get the refurbed unit most likely. The apple site claims that it gets a new battery and case along with any other under performing parts +1 year warranty. That is good enough for me. I was really hoping for waterproofing of some kind on this new model. Similar to the Razr and other phones that now have this feature. I wasn't expecting too too much with this update though.
