Went with the group purchase and got BBK 80 Throttlebody last week and got the stock on off the 5.3 and replaced it with the new one. Very easy job to do. The hard part was remove the coolent lines fro under the throttlebody. I let it idle until the fans came on to reset the computer. I messed around with it some highway miles and some quick startes with nitrous. After 200 mile my check engine light came on. Going to hook up to a code reader tomorrow. It sound like it loves to breath. I think it will be a good mod for my truck.

with a good full exhaust, tuning, assuming with AND without headers, and with a CIA, what sorta gains are we lookin at on a LS1?? 10-12rwhp? i know the 5.3's are different, but same questions for that motor.....

A good exhaust will give you about 15hp on a stock one, CIA, about 2-5, hahaha, and tuning is somewhere new 20-25hp on a stock one.

I bet on a ls1 with headers, exhaust , cia, and tuning, 40hp is very reasonable.

just on tuning you can get about 20hp, the tuning and exhaust will compliment each other.
like we all know, the mods don't add up for hp rating,

what do you have in mind,

im coming from the land of mopar magnums here (twin blade...lower cfm TB's) mine is anodized billet 55mmx52mm and is considered large, flowing around 1100cfm. stock is 50mm i think.(on the dodge)

just curious, never heard much of TB talk with LS1's

Should work with the spray pretty well...when's the tune going to happen Paul? lol

Here is that part I was telling you about that will pull timing automatically while on the bottle so that you can run MAX power N/A and MAX on the bottle...very trick piece.

That part basically retards ignition timing when the nitrous comes, this is all automatically.

Basically I used a similar part on an old SBF. I ran 15* BTDC on the motor and the retard box pulled timing to 10* BTDC so no detonation on the spray...that was with a 175HP shot also.

You just run the ground wire from the solenoid to that box and it will do the work when the nitrous solenoid grounds out...letting the spray flow.

    Make sense?

Yes but I heard I will need to change out my fuel pump and injectors because they can not handle that much of a shot. I would like to run that much of a shot. I am running 145 now.
