    Buying your own health insurance

Well guys I might be taking the leap to become a consultant. I will have to provide my own insurance. I was wondering if any of you guys have to do this and what is the going rate on a family of 3. Thanks

I am on the process of changing my families health insurance. If you and the family is reasobly healthy get a High deductible account with a health savings account. I was paying 12k a year for a family of 3. I am reducing that to 6k a year and putting the other 6 into a HSA. My deductible is $5000.00 This is the only way to go. Health insurance is a major cost. I could have a new ZR1 with what I have paid for health insurance in the last ten years. A really good resource fo insurance education is Dave Ramseys Financial Peace University. I just thought I knew a little about money and insurance until I started his course. He has saved me thousands in the last 2 months alone. Here is the link to the home course DVD set. http://www.daveramsey.com/store/prod163.html
You can do it in churchs for a lot less money but I preferred to do it at home.
