    LS7 lifters

hey all im pretty sure i have a sticky lifter on the passenger side of my motor and its driving me nuts. i just put my motor together less than 2k miles ago with brand new stock lifters so im sorta mad im having this issue... i know a lot of guys are running the ls7 lifters does anyone have a part number? i need to get a set and change mine out before issues start. one other question should i go ahead and change the head gaskets as well as these were also replaced and are only 1,800 miles old... what exaclty causes lifters to make noise? its definitely RPM based as the noise gets quicker as the rmps increase. sorry to ramble im just mad because i wanted to hit the track and now im sorta hesitant to with this issue... it started about 1,000 miles in and has stayed ever since. thanks all.

GM's LS7 lifters are a direct replacement for all LSx engines -

Yeah i would say change out the gaskets. Make sure to check the oil passage at the bottom of where the lifter sits.

thats wicked uncool... it is just something cloggin the passage not allowing oil to flow through so they stick and make noise? is it dangerous to leave it the way it is?? it sucks having to tear the heads off...

    Tried SeaFoam ?

that stuff works wonders for cleaning engine oil passages
and sludge out of an engine.

When I tore my stock '89 100+k 5.0 engine apart for first time
I had been really bad about changing oil, car had sat for 2 years at one time
but I ran a couple of cans of SeaFoam thru previous oil changes as I started
taking care of the car again.

When I broke it open, there was not a single bit of sludge or old oil build
up ANYWHERE. under valve covers, oil pan, everywhere looked super clean.

True believer after seeing that. Was expecting to see ugly mess under v/c's
