    Relocating transmission Possible

Anyone ever hear of the truck transmission being relocated to the back, or at least close to the rear. Pretty much how the vette is, with transmission right at the rear axle. Or is this just some noob dream of doing it, where it is no where near feasible to do??

Anyone that maybe wondering about the vette's setup

I just figured the vette does it, and puts out lots of power. Yeah its not heavy, but the drive shaft takes our trucks weight all day long..

Sounds interesting, i think the only part that would be tough is that the motor on the vette is mounted down lower than in the trucks? And what is the WB on the vette versus a SCSB truck? It would get a lot more weight to the rear end in my opinion. Seems like a lot of custom fab work to make it work though, might be worth a shot for something no one else has.

its possible i thought about it for a while but id have to get rid of awd which i am not willing to to. I think it would be cool for a road race truck i would think an ecsb would be best but it will cost alot of money/ fab work and knowledge to even attempt something like this

Drive line angle would make it really hard to do.

Agree pinion could be an issue, but then if it were done like the vette you have independent rear suspension. Drive line travel wouldn't be that much of an issue anymore, maybe.

Then getting the initial pinion angle right would possible be an issue.

    z06 wheels base is 105"
    ecsb wheel base 133"

So 25" difference. Again with independent rear suspension.

Yeah there being a will or a way you could be done. Just imagine getting more power to the wheels because its a solid connection..

Corvette has a torque tube...I think there's a bunch more involved than just moving things downstream...
