    Good news...

    Well I think I might be picking an LS1 up in houston tommorow to throw in my truck and it already had a 224/228 cam prods and springs in it. An 01 with 70k Miles. Im figuring its gonna be an easy swap but just wanted to ask yall what else would I need?

    I figured I would need a new oil pump just to be safe and get a new LS6 one from the dealer. I would be running the stock truck intake manifold for the time being till I can get an LS6 one or somethin later. Do all the accessories from the 4.8 bolt right on or do I need new brackets or anything? Obviously Im going to need a tune. What about injectors? or would they stay the same due to the truck intake manifold setup?

    And Yes I know my current trannys screwed and my gears are probably on thin ice. So Im not going to be able to have fun with it until my built trannys in and re-geared lol Which wont be long though of course.

    But mainly Im just asking for swap advice and a list of other things that would be needed!

    Htown! off some forums. Im going to inspect it with a friend whos knows way more than me and builds motors and crap lol. If it appears to be doing good and runs perfect on startup and after Ill be set. If somethin messes up within the first few miles internally and isnt my fault Im going to be so pissed ha. I got my PLX gauge in so I can inspect everything and my friends got hptuners so I might have him check everything out on startup

    Ive seriously also been considering lowering my truck to take away all the stress on parts. Like take the body lift off and the suspension and sell them and use the money for lowering components and such ha. Take off the grill guard and fenders. But then again I love the lifted look

    yeah thats what I meant lol. like who are you getting it from. Luckily I bought my motor used from a guy that I and a lot of others trust. So I hope this one is the same.

    Im sure it will be fine though. I just always hated buying something that had been opened up.. if that makes sense. Just make sure he is legit. Even then you should go through all his posts, threads etc to find out whats been going on with his car. If he is even on that forum you have been looking at

    Oh Ive been doing my detective spying work my friend! LOL
    Oh and I read wrong. Its an 02 LS1 with a 236 Cam and 611 or something lift. Stock heads with comp dual springs and titanium retainers. Im sure hes got good prods too.
    I think im taking this lift off and selling the parts and wheels for lowering kit and my friends boyd cottingtons. Im never gonna be fast this high up and its just gonna keep tearing stuff up and spending more money ha
