    Need Help Stopping a Habit

    Dipping.

Its getting bad I will go through 1-2 cans each day! I have tried stopping but it seems to last about 2-3 days or so. When I am in the paint booth or mixing paint it seems im always reaching for a dip, especially when I am driving . But I want to stop, it will save money also. Has anyone successfully stoped before

    Will pictures help?

You always see pictures of sores in peoples mouth, how about a picture of what the surgeon removed to get rid of the cancer?

Surgery for oral cancer is often disfiguring. If the cancer is not caught right away, major surgery is often needed to take out parts of the mouth, tongue, or jaw. Head and neck radiation is often part of the treatment and can cause severe complications such as burned tissues, difficulty swallowing, and reduced saliva flow.

    Oral Cancer Warning Signs:
    • A sore that bleeds easily and doesn’t heal
    • A lump or thickening anywhere in the mouth or throat
    • Soreness or swelling that doesn’t go away
    • A red, white, or red and white patch that doesn’t go away
    • Trouble chewing, swallowing, or moving the tongue or jaw
If you see any of these signs in your mouth, call your dentist immediately. The sooner you get help, the better are your chances of survival!

If you are really ready to quit, then man up and do it. It is tough though. If you aren't really ready, it won't stick.

I dipped for 10 years, stopped cold Thanksgiving 2004. Can't stand to smell spit cups, make me want to puke. Still love the smell of a fresh Cope can though!!

I left out the most important thing: Don't worry, it will grow back...

    The cancer, that is.

I used to dip and smoke and just quit cold turkey also, but a buddy of mine used those red lifesavers instead of dip.
