    best steel toed work boots

what is everyones opinion of the best steel toed work boots as far as comfortability and durability goes. price is not an issue, and i would prefer black and they be the shorter ones, just above the ankle a little bit.

The work i will be doing is attending UTI for specialized diesel in Phoenix and want as comfortable as i can get being i will be standing on concrete alot.

I wore Dr. Marten's ($90) for a long time because of my back. I switched to Red Wings ($139) this year because of some quality issues. I will be going back to Docs (hahaha Moze, Virgil, and Greg saw my last replaced pair) when these extremely high dollar POS's are retired. Since neither style is a boot or steel toe I guess I should have not posted.

Wolverines and Caterpillar boots are sorry-ass crap. I mean...really. You wanna limp the rest of your life? They sell Wolverines at effing Wal-Mart.

I only wear thorogood. the ones I wear are a low top and they go just below the ankle like a pair of tennis shoes. I dont have a lot to choose from because my job buys my shoes for me. and I can only choose from american made shoes, because I work for the military/goverment. the thorogood shoes are VERY comfortable to me and have held up very well.

That's what I like about the Bates, very light and last. I do most of my walking on steel and works on your back if you don't have a good pair of boots. If they only need to be a safety toe and not steel, they make them in fiberglass and they don't seem to be as hot or cold depending on the outside temps.
