A buddy of mine has a 2004 1500 DBW that as soon as it starts it will cut right back off. The engine is off just as soon as you let the key go. Also it is not throwing the srvice engine soon. The truck is bone stock. NEED HELP IMMEDIATELY!!!

Check to make sure the MAF is plugged in. Then check the fuel pressure. You need to get it scanned to see what the code is

Also we just found out that none of his electronic stuff woks (powerlocks & windows) Also the line that is normally under the gear selector screen isn't there.

Nothing throws codes.
Check the ground wire at the back of the RH (passenger side) head. Should be a black wire with a white stripe coming out of the cross cowl wiring harness.
Also check the BCM fuses. Sounds like a security issue, not an engine, TAC, or DBW problem. You need a real scanner that can look at body data as well as engine codes.
We got it fixed. There was a little orange wire that we traced all the way to the back of the guage cluster that some how got cut. Crimped her together and was good to go. Thanx for the help guyz

Weird. Orange is usually B+, not communication...oh well. Sounds fishy.![]()
