what does the lobe separation modifies?? for example 224/224, .566"/.566" with 112 vs 115 lobe separation, will they perform the same? just the diff in the idle??? or what do they change?
thanks

There are several things that come into play here. Yes a wider LSA reduces maximum tourque and natural EGR, but it widens the power band and helps with idle. The main reason most go with a tighter LSA is to increase Cylinder pressure, which we all know means more work per stroke. Specifically more force in the W=FXD, The thing is with increased cylinder pressure comes more fuel to avoid knock, less ignition advance or both.

The lower the LSA number....the more of a stall you will need--potentially. the power will weaken down low, but it will peak higher, as explained by Quik. The lower the LSA number, the more of a lope you will get at idle.

The perfect stall for both of you is CircleD's Reworked TrailBlazer converter. The one I had stalled out right at 3k and you will still be able to tow. Other companies may offer something that will work as well, but not for the price. If you both get one at the same time Chris may cut you a deal. Otherwise they are 350 and well worth it.

A cam is like a woman you have to try a few out before you find what you like!
I went with this cam thinking it would be about right for my setup. Now as I have pulled so much weight out of my truck and gone up to the 3600 converter I am looking at something around 228 ish duration 580-600 lift on a 112 or 110 lsa. So my cam will be on the market soon enough. I just have not decided on the exact cam I want to run. I want to buy something big enough for my next engine, but will still run wild in my current little 5.3. I have been traveling so much lately I have not had time to think about the cam lately, but as soon as I am back from NH I will start my research!
