Thread: I know its not a chevy but is it worth this?

    Me and My GFs dad are going to look at a car tongiht. Its a 1993 5.0L Mustang. Its got basic boltons and a Mild cam. Cowl hood, blue w/ white stripes. Racing seats w/ roll cage. It is also street legal. He pulls consistent 11.8s on slicks. He has never sprayed that car. He has all the original parts and receipts for the things that he has bought.

    Hes asking $7k OBO. Well???

    I would think that a 1993 Mustang in good condition would be worth around 3-4K. One that is built to run in the 11&#39;s would cost a fortune to build. I would get it if I were you.

    As much as I hate to say it, get it. A friend of mine has a 92 all black with stock wheels and basically the same setup, and it sounds mean. But his runs low 14s.

    Only low 14&#39;s? No offense to your buddy, but is he a spaz behind the wheel? Even a mildly mod&#39;d FOX body Mustang should be into the mid 13&#39;s.

    I agree with everyone here, if the car has current safety inspection sticker (i.e. it&#39;s roadworthy) and it&#39;s fully documented (receipts & timeslips) and it&#39;s clean & straight AND the roll cage work is quality then yeah I&#39;d give &#036;7K for it. Basically you&#39;re paying &#036;3K for basic boltons, hood, cage, and seats. But I wouldn&#39;t give more than &#036;7K, I&#39;d offer &#036;6200 and go from there...

    Hmmmm. From knowing about those Fox body Stangs, that sounds like something I would look into. The guy is ASKING &#036;7k. That doesn&#39;t mean you give him &#036;7k. Low ball the guy to start out with and see how he reacts. Offer something like &#036;6-&#036;6250. But don&#39;t break the &#036;6750 barrier. Everyone mentioned great points about the car and mods. But it all comes down to how it looks and feels...kinda like when picking out a good woman...
