Dudes,
Yesterday I just Checked vacum leaks at the inyectors, none found!!!!
Checked for Exhaust Leaks and found one in the header joint with the rest of the tube to the back, small but could hit crazy the O2 of that side as Allen told me.
Changed from new AC Platnium Stock Plugs to the Champion RC9YC gapped at 0.35"
Went last night to a dinner meeting, and comming out form that in a red light mi car suddently died!!!!!
I Said WTF.
I tow it to my mother in law house an left it there.
The problem is weird cause if I leaft the truck sit still and cold for 15-20 min it starts great and idles for abou 5 min and the dies again.
I change all the Relays I could found but the same thing.
Have Fuel presure around 56psi and with some hearing and ca detect the 2 pumps working well.
But I have no Spark at the Spark Cable on none of the Coils!!!!!!!!! !
Test light the conectors of the coil (4 wires) and with ignition on just one have power, and in craking mode. still just one have power, the other 3 wires dont show anything.
Can any body enlight me on this one?
I all my 5.3L have never happend this to me????
So no experience at all...please, tonight I want to big bass some ricer dudes!!!!!!!!!

Check your engine harness ground at the back of the head. Also check your cam and crank sensor connectors and make sure there are no cuts in the wires. I cut the wire on the cam sensor and the engine would not start, so if you have a cut in the insulation it could be grounding out. Be sure the crank sensor wire is clear of the exhaust.
-
Ok dude,
I'll check that Right away!!!!!
Post you in some minutes!!!!!
-
Readheart,
Check every ground in the car, realive all of them.
heck every cable on the engine bay and clean it and tape the ones I saw in badly shape.
Clean with "conector spary cleaner every coil conector to the PCM and to the plug.
The car was cold.
I fire it up, stood for a while with the computer in scan mode.......and then suddenttly turn off.
There,s a code on SES
P0351 Coil1 control (inmature)
What this stand for?
-
First thing to do is to check the wiring from the coil back to the PCM. The pin could have pushed it's way out of the PCM connector.
-
That is a camshaft position sensor circuit performance failure.
That occurs when the PCM detects that a CMP (camshaft position sensor) to CKP (crankshaft position sensor) mismatch has occurred for at least 10 seconds.
-
I'll check the wire and trace it to the PCM.
Also just went to the place I found the exact replacement for the NGK TR-6 in Champion.
So Right now I'm taking the RC9YC that place yesterday and putting in the RS9YC gapped to .35
-
Just trace all the cables back to the PCM.
I took the PCM out. verified and took out the conectors, of the PCM and clean them up just to be secure.
Tacking those sockets out, does the truck need a relearn to start?
Cause is much worse now.
It does not turn on at all.....toatally busted my self now!!!!

Sounds like you lost a crank or cam sensor. Is the cam sensor plugged in? The code you listed points back at the cam sensor. It has either failed or there is a short somewhere in a wire. Have you tried using a multimeter and check for 5 volts at the sensor, check the ground from the cam sensor connector and then check that there is continuity from the reference return lead at the cam sensor connector back at the PCM? Do you have access to a sensor you can borrow maybe from your old black truck?
-
Oops...
12 volts on the W/B wire PCM pin 39 red PCM connector
Ground on the R/W lead PCM pin 61 blue PCM connector
Reference signal BR wire goes to pin 73 on blue PCM connector.
-
Just give it up for today...thanks dude. tomorrow I'll tow it to my company and ramp it up to se the crank and the sensors.
Today I was working at the garage so not that much space (mother in law garage that is!!!!!!!!)
Tomorrow I'' check those 2 sensors you mentioned. But tonigt I'll see how to make my wife get sleep soon and take her Trail for a Spin on Racing Gas LOL
Really brain tired today dude
Thanks for all really
Gabe

This morning I'm proceding to Tow the trck to my company!!!!!
I have another truck here with Axel Issues, and no Engine Problem.
Same engine, same truck, in black too.
I'll use those sensors to check out mine REDHEARTBEAT.
Will keep u posted
Thanks for the help dude
-
The only other thing I could think of is a faulty water temp sensor. They have that thing wired into the system in such a manner that it does things to the PCM you'd never believe possible.

RedHeartbeat
Dude, all I can say is THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
I took off my cam and crank sensors as u told me, and place it in other company truck........BAMMMMMM
Same problem with it, started, idle for 10 min and died, not turn on again and waited for like 20 minutes, and the same cycle repeated.
So I placed Those truck Sensors on mine and VOILA!!!!!! Works charming fine, no show a problem what so ever.......well the idle that Allen will fixed next week and that's about it.
So Dude, as Always you where BULLSEYE so the only thing I can offer is,
Anything you want from here, google it and I send it for u via DHL dude. Just a token of my eternal gratefullness
I just order the new sensors and they're coming on sunday with a friend.
Don't know which one was the faulty one, but as both pass 400K KM I guess changing both is a great Idea!!!!!!!!
Thanks again dude, and the proposal is for real!!!!!!!!
-
No problem, Brother. That's what we're here for, to help one another and learn.
-
Thanks dude,
BTW, I'm the Next FM turbo candidate, so there If I can't find Allen, I'll be bugging u LOL
hahahahahaha
Have a great holyday
