I have a 2/3 with 275/55R20
i have buddys that run the 275/45 with the 2/4... my truck ended closer to being a 3/4 or 5 with my drop and i can fit those on mine with no rubbage
thanks... did yall go with spindles or springs in the front?
i went with spindles on my 2/4 drop, but i have 255/50 tires.
how much does a drop usually cost? ive been looking around and getting different prices and if i went with springs up front would it mess up my alignment?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(blackout00 @ Oct 12 2006, 07:32 PM) </div>when i got the spindles put on, i couldnt necessarily notice from looking at it that my alignment was off, and nor would the truck "drift" when i let go of the wheel on the freeway. but i went ahead and got the alignment checked anyway so i wouldnt have any camber that would result in my expensive ass tires getting worn down in the wrong way.Quote:

my drop cost me right around 450 with the spindles, and its not too much less with the springs. make sure that if you go with spindles you get the right size. i wanted to run my stock wheels and tires for a while before buying new ones, but i bought spindles that fit 17"rims or bigger and stockies are 16s. so when your purchasin it, make sure you get the exact ones you want.
ya the spindle for mininum 16" wheel is $359 but the spindle for minimum 17" is $260 did u have to buy new shocks for front or rear?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(blackout00 @ Oct 12 2006, 08:25 PM) </div>not at all. at least for the 2/4. but im definately getting some soon because i feel EVERYTHING. plus when i was trying to knock the upper and lower control arm loose from the spindle, i busted alllll the damn grease boots. so yeah. it just doesnt ride too great, but once i get shocks on there it should be better. after i put the roll pan on, i noticed the back raised up about half an inch or so. hardly anyone else notices it, but i do.Quote:

When you do the shackle and or hanger the pinion angle goes to hell and then you need to measure it prior to work and then shim it to get it back otherwise you will gain a vibration that to some will feel like the driveshaft is falling out. Suggest you look at the 4" drop springs. SCIV did his with springs and says he has no vibration. I did shackles and hate the squeeeeeeek and the 20 - 40 mph vibration it picked up.
Just some Info to think about...... :help:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jethro_3 @ Oct 12 2006, 09:06 PM) </div>the springs are 149 for one and it takes two so that would be 300 for springs when hangers are only 165....but ill consider it...im still shopping and researching...im not gonna buy for a few more days until im certain what i want...thanksQuote:

The vibration wasnt there after the last time i put the tires at 35psi. A few weeks back I got the tires rotated and balanced, and those hoes jacked up the air pressure. I havent been able to get it back to the way it was because my air tanks are at home, and the air at the gas stations is just terrible to try and put in the tires. Its slow and hardly fills anything. Thats why the vibration is there in my truck.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(duckysbht @ Oct 12 2006, 09:21 PM) </div>so run up to discount tire and they should fill them up for u for free....thats what they do hereQuote:

yeah i mean i love my mac spindles, but i think i should of gone another route. but hey you live and learn.
I went with a 3/4 drop, springs / shackles / hangers with beltech drop shocks up front an the 275/4/20 and no tire rub and pretty good ride quality. I have alot of buddies that went with spindles and have the same ride as my truck. As far as alighment goes you always take it after a couple of weeks
on my drop i actually got a brand new belltech off ebay for $250. had lower control arms, with the hangers and shackles in the rear.... i needed to get an alignment afterwards and i would suggest doing the same just for safe keeping...... i dont know how your doing yours but we did mine in an airplane hanger with flor jacks....
tip for the wise..... GET A SPRING COMPRESSOR.... its scary when that thing flys out at you
