Since you last tuned my truck for 93 oct I have put the 160 thermo on it. I told you when you tuned it that i was going to be putting it on there. Should the computer already learn that there is a 160 thermo or can i bring it back to you to get it tuned a little more?

what is the S/D tune?
Sometimes the 160stat makes the truck run a tad richer, but it will be ok.
If you have fans and the pcm was setup for the stock stat, you'll see the temp needle go up to 190 or so in traffice and come down as you start moving. We'll need to adjust that.

What would it take for you to order me a cam and the accessories also I would like to come up on a day during the week and have it done? Could this be done in a day for the cam to be installed and then dyno tuned for it?
Also under a light foot would a cam hurt my gas milleage or make it better?
I wonder if a SD tune would work better on mine..... Still dies when in reverse..... :bash:

Then we'll setup an appointment and get your down here. Yes, we can install the cam and tune it in one day, then send you home with some nice dyno numbers.
You will not suffer any gas mileage with a mild to semi aggressive cam, as long as you stay out of it, heheh.

I was thinking of the 1bar SD tuning on my truck, but the MAF is just sooo easy to tune and provides a little more cushion for weather variables. The 1bar SD tune includes a TPS fueling table that helps out on radical setups.

IMO, SD is better for the more extreme setups. If offers better control over the a/f ratio.
The only negative thing I've noticed with SD is the throttle response isn't as snappy. It's a bit slow, not slow enough the average person will know, but if you've had a nice snappy, perfect maf tune, then go to the sd tune, you can tell.
But when comparing it to maf for performance, imo, there's no comparison. It takes longer and yes, it changes just a bit with conditions, but not enough to worry about. I may see .2 difference in a/f ratio from one extreme to the other.
In my situation, I tuned SD because boost with a turbo isn't as predictable with the other chargers. I can get 5psi going up a hill in fourth, then I can get 5psi in 1st at 4,000rpms (depending how warm the turbo is), so you can see how difficult it is to tune for boost when there are no tables to adjust (like maf tuning).
Now, the tune richens up right where I need it when boost comes on, regardless of rpm.
If you have a head cam setup, I always try to tune with the maf first, if that doesn't work, (which it hasn't yet), then we'll go sd.
