You'll need to pick up some Comp 918 springs to accomodate the higher lift and some hardened rods.Quote:

All based on my limited knowledge...
you will need a 2600 stall and push rods, springs 26918 to get the most out of the cam, if you use the stock converter then it will feel real sluggish off the line.

vv8 i dont know if you remember me from HRP about 2 weeks ago on a friday night i was with a buddy in an orange 55 chevy and we all talked for a while at the staging lanes and you showed us your truck?....well thats sort of a bummer about the cam, if i dont replace the springs and push rods could it be catostrophic or will it hold for a while?....any other cam suggestions im looking for something that sounds pretty good loap wise with a set of headers but i dont really have a lot of extra cash laying aound for the springs and other stuff
I'm running that same cam on a 115 LSA instead of 112 with a 3200 stall, Manley springs and titanium retainers with MTI hardened pushrods. I'd like to go more duration with a 600 + lift when do my next swap.
What if he swaps out the rear gears to a higher numerical number - say like 3.90 or 4.10s?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Blacked out 98' @ Oct 10 2006, 07:32 PM) </div>Yes sir I do remember talking to you, just can't put a face to it lol, sorry had alot on my mind that night, well you can run the stock springs as long as you don't go over 5k on the revs and rods would be ok as well, but if you go to www.ls1tech.com look in the parts for sale section there are plenty of good deals on springs and rods, alot cheaper. thats how I have all my toys, garage shopper.Quote:

after the tune Allen placed the idle a lil bit higher so it doesnt lope AS much but still has a great sound.... especially on these cold mornings...... as for the power difference.... DAYUM is all i can say i love it
i havent had experience with other cams in my truck to compare to, but as from stock it picks up HARD bout 1700 or so all teh way through the power band
Byran you dont need all that stuff you'll never gonna beat old orange

its about the same as the old cam, the old cam pulled better up top 114 to this new 112.
