Especially with the ram air...a good choice.
Vararam here , would not switch .
Sounds kind of NASCARish under WOT.

maybe that will help with your choice!
I also have the volant with ram air, and i wouldn't change it.
I have the volant, just havent ordered the ram air scoop yet, its on my list.
they probably produce close to the same air flow, and to me the volant looks SICK, and also the choice of the ram air scoop makes it my choice of CAI, cant wait to get mine!
Don't buy a Vararam , for God sakes they suck .
i dont have either but ive seen both kits in person. volant is the superrior setup. better fit, finish, quality etc etc etc. the only intake i would go with over volant is my setup, and part of happens to be volant lol.

edit...and besides, how can you trust anyone who advertises the velocity stack as a power adder :duh:
Looks like Volant is the way to go. Thanks for the input guys. Now I need to find the cheapest place {ebay} :thumb:
I had a Vararam and I didn't have any problems with mine. I wanted a ram air system but wanted it to be functional offroad. The scoop on the Volant is high and somewhat protected but there is no imaginable way to get water in the Vararam or it getting beat up by something if it gets under the valance.

Read this , this was posted by one of your own , Vararam added 2 hp and cut a few tenths of seconds just by adding it to the truck , as most articles show time after time Vararam adds hp and cuts second off 1/4 mile time .
I don't care which one u go with , go with the masses , but numbers don't lie .
THATS BULLSHIT, i dont care what brand u go with its not gonna be a huge difference from one brand to the other, a few tenths of a second could very well be due to traction issues or something else, highly doubt its due just to the vararam shit. :thumb:

all companies advertise sh*t to the consumer.. it's a marketing scam.
ie: k&n filters estimated horsepower gain near 15hp, just from the cai itself.. :bs:
exactly if one company gave u 10 more horsepower than another ud be going with the company who gives u more horsepower. people dont "go with the masses" all the time, for the most part they r all the same, i like the fit and finish of the volant, its clean and fits well. plus u can get the ram air scoop to do the exact same thing an uglier(IMO) vararam system. so for me Volant is my choice, this isnt about personal issues, just saying i like volant better. K and N is of course another great company id look at, i just like how the volant looks better. daniel has a k and n and he loves it, it works perfect so i mean it preference. :thumb:
Depends on what you are looking for. I wanted the Sleeper effect so i went with a Volant Ram Air under the stock box and then put a True Airflow tube between the MAF and TB. Definitely picked up time at hte track, does not pickup water and keeps it all hidden.....
No matter which one you choose there will always be a decenting voice... there are different ways to get the HP/MPG/Performance you might be looking for.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jethro_3 @ Sep 20 2006, 11:41 PM) </div>a true sleeper couldnt produce the horsepower that it takes to be fast haha, i mean u can only take it so far before people hear the growl coming from ur pipes. but rock on man! i just think most gearheads could point out the badass truck from the regular trucks 95% of the time. i for 1 couldnt sacrifice that growl and all the other noticable mods just to be a sleeper. i couldnt give up my rims for stockers, or exhaust and so people would always kno i got shit done. lets see more pics of ur sleeper jethro!Quote:

As said, depends on what you want...
You will see it Sat if you show up
Looks like i'm gonna go with Volant after last night. I was talking to a friend last night and he told me he has the VaraRam so I had to check it out. Not pretty at all. When he opened the hood I was like what the hell is that f**ked up design. Then it looks like about 20 screws holding it together. Now I see why some poeple say they are falling about. For the extra .1 i'ts not worth it to me. I'm going VOLANT. Thanks for all the input again guys. Maybe I should've keep my 03 silverado in my sig.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(FLATOP08 @ Sep 21 2006, 05:39 AM) </div>good choice, as u can see 99.9% of the peoples on here would rather have a volant, and although some people may think the vararam is good(haha), think about this: uve heard good stuff about both but uve only heard bad stuff about the vararam. the only down side to the volant MAY be price, but u get what u pay for! :thumb:Quote:
