Hey Red! Got Super Truck back today after major surgery.They took all my shift kit parts out...even my servo! Oh well it only cost me about 300.00 bucks for a rebuilt tranny and new cats.Kinda nice having soft shifts again....but not for long.I gotta list of parts they replaced that almost fills one page :eek:
Yeah, first parts back on the trans would be the Corvette or billet servos and a transgo shift improver kit. I doubt they rebuilt yours, they most likely just put in a rebuilt core. There is a VIN number stamped under the tail housing of the transmission. I bet it no longer matches your truck's VIN. Better write it down somewhere so that if it ever gets swiped you will have the ID number.
Yup,It kinda eases into a second gear,slow tire spin.Kinda scared to get it hittin real hard again.I think 4.10s will take some stress off the drive line
Damn, did they reprogram your PCM? I thought you had the TQ mgmt removed?
Allen has it soft shifting because of the shift kit.My wife always grabs her neck and gives me that look...QUIT IT! Gotta love it. The reprogram issue is being checked out first thing friday morning on the way to work...Damn! Monday morning it took a shit on 199 and thursday night I drive it home.I dont see a dealer rebuilding a tranny in house with parts ordered, twice and replacing the cats,o2 sensors and other stuff they did in a little under 2 days.I think I will check my numbers and see if I got the swap.The truck feels completely differant,stall seems higher and putting more power to the ground than before.Probably the new cats.Me and Allen have been tweakin this Bitch for a few months now, and shit..the more he gave it ,the less it would respond. cat on pass side was melted and broken in smaller parts plugging the pipe and the fuses where blown on the o2 heaters.Never gave a code or light that I am aware of
Yeah, I've been thinking about making myself a pair of 02 test pipes. I haven't dropped the pipes down since they went in. With my luck they are melted or plugged too since I drove it for quite a while with a bad/slow/dead 02 sensor. Maybe that is why it is down on power. :whack:

I was a machinist long ago. I love working on GM vehicles and they have always been my favorite. I also have been known to build an air-cooled VW engine once in a while. My current job for the last 15 years is computerized numerical control programmer, programming the computer controlled machine shop equipment. The last 5 years of the 15 I have been a technical analyst for our CNC programming department. What I do is write an interpreter language to communicate between our universal programming language and the actual machines on the shop floor. Over the last year, almost, I have also been working on developing a processor program that simulates the program on a computer before it goes down to the shop floor machine. This software called Vericut will let us know if we are going to scrap a part or crash a machine long before it goes to the shop. All that hard thinking M-F wears my brain out. I've been an analytical thinker all my life and it gets in the way from time to time but it does help to solve numerous problems at home and work. Just don't ask me how to work problems out with relationships, I can't do that. :laugh:

Nothing frustrates me more than going to a dealership that has counter people that don't know their product line. I can understand Orielly, Autozone, PepBoys and Carquest having people that don't know all the brands because there are just soooo many. Hell, I was at the girl's softball game and saw a car I had never seen before, a British made hand built car called a TVR. As me a question about that one and all I can do is shrug my shoulders and say what the hell is that? It's always funny when I go to the service center at the dealership and just listen to the crap they tell the customers when trying to diagnose a problem. I wish I had some money or credit available to start a quality performance parts center in North Texas. We don't have anything up here in the Denton area. All the rod shops around DFW that I've been to don't have true parts or accessories. Trying to find even things like Russell or Aeroquip hose connectors is impossible around here. It would be cool just to be able to sell the parts, not even having to install them on the customer's cars.
