<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(vv8 @ Mar 25 2006, 12:47 AM) </div>man, 12.5 is haulin ass tweaked or untweaked! BTW , i was conversing with allen about the shift points on my truck and he said they should be at 6500 with my cam and he said yours are around 6700 - 7000? And you have no probs. I just wanted some more input, not that i dont trust his opinion but if you dont see any adverse effects on your 5.3 i'll feel better about 6500 on mine!- THANKSQuote:

well with the old cam on a 114 it would pull to 6800, now with the 112 it falls alittle shorter right around 6500 to 6600.
yep you should be safe with 6500 shift points.

oh yeah i was shifting at 6800 with stock pushrods and comp 915's lol, now i have the harden rods and patriot dual springs, because of the higher lift cam.
Damn Kevin, that thing is freakin nuts.LOL Very nice times there bud!
Not to long from now you will have a thread that say finally broke 11's.LOL I can see it coming soon!
these little 5.3 are tougher than a brick shit house!
you got that right :point: who needs a 6.0
That's cool, Dude. I have been impressed with that truck's performance from day one. Yeah, sounds like you need more tweaking. That cam ought to pull harder in the upper RPM band than your old one.
yeah they are VERY strong.LOL
well I'm looseing it in the topend some where, by the calulators it should of went 12.38 with the 1/8th mile being 7.89, who knows lol, will see if we can richen it up in 3rd gear.
hello allen???? lol
Good job Kevin
have you thought about maybe reving the motor to high?
my shift points set at 6350 to 6400 according to the tach.
when it shift out of 2nd my tach drops to 5k and pulls all the way up to 6k when i cross the traps. (although i do have a 3k stall so that might help some). anyways my shift points are setup like this after studying my dyno graph to see where my range is at.
another thing to think about is the intake. most setups like our own, hp peaks @ 5900. just somethink to think about...
It's still hauling asss!!! Nice times.
allen
yeah if you look at my post in the lounge you will understand by shift points lol made one run shifting at 6800 1-2 and 6800 2-3 ran a 12.51 20 mins later run 6800 1-2 and 6000 2-3 and run a 12.53 60' were about the same 1.73 to 1.74.
