tranny no workie!!!

turned on the hiway and got on it....soon as the 1-2 shift BAM!!!!rattled the whole damn truck :eek: i was like WTF!!! abs light came on..brake light came on...speedo went to 0...it was free spinning and then it grabbed so i contunued on about 4 miles and stopped at a resturant...put into reverse and sounded like splines not connected...put in drive and went forward...put back in reverse and same sound...pushed it back into parking space...went to eat...came out and started up...put into drive and no movment either way....what happened????

Damn, second week in a row someone I know with a Radix took out a tranny. Makes me want to start building mine right now.... Bad luck there Bud. Hope you get it back on the road soon.......

ouch! well, atleast you can have it beefed while its out, still sucks though, could it maybe be the 1-2 clutches slipped bad?

not built...i just had him put in servos,zinc seperator plate,shift kit,acc pistons...did not go into the tranny...i'll get it rebuilt with all the hard parts down here thou....
cant beleive how violent the BAM was :eek: this tranny never slipped not 1 bit...

well they got it apart and it had snapped the input shaft....im going back together with all the hard parts beast sun shell and bigger bands.... it will be ready for a test drive tomorrow :devil:

sweet bud8, now you wont have to worry about mashing it any more! That dam 5.3 just makes too much power :devil: you should just sell it and get a ford :lol:

my next trucks gonna be a diet truck...4 door 1/2 ton :thumb: damn things weighs almost 600 lbs lighter than this thing but im not finished with this one yet!!! :lol:

Well, I was next but it's not the tranny. I broke a rear end gear Saturday night. :cry: I thought that I had puked a tranny but it turned out to be the rear.

all built up to 65e specs
a transgo hd2 kit with 3 washers
drilled out zinc seperator plate
beast sun shell
vette servo
aluminum acc pistons
heavy duty pump
didnt tell me the brands but wide bands w/ kevlar lining
all harden internals
and a bunch a tech stuff he does to make all this stuff work in harmony
restalled the stock converter to like 24-2500....

hate to say it but when the rear gear goes it usually locks up the drive train and wipes out the clutches along the way....

Thanks, Alton. Sounds pretty much like what is going into mine other than the hardened parts. Going with BorgWarner clutches and I may try out the new ZPAK 3-4 clutch pack since it was designed for extreme duty usage.
