What would be the ideal shop/hangout? Would it be a place with a dyno? What products would you pefer to keep in stock? I am tired of walking into parts stores and they think because they can wash and wax thier ricer they know about performance or a car period.

employees that care, know what the hell they're talking about and wont steer you in the wrong direction.
I woud think that the ideal shop/hangout would be a place that dealt in performance parts(bolt ons, exaust systems, turbos, superchargers, etc.) but also dealt with appearance accessories. There is a place over by the track in Houston that deals with just appearance and they have a pretty good clientele but I would think that if they dealt with performance parts that their business woud increase drastically. Also a dyno would be nice to have. As TXSILVERADO said knowledgeable employees that want to help you reach your goals is also important. Employees without people skills or knowledge will hurt business. A happy customer is a return customer. Just my :twocents:

If it was me a place that was kind of like a sports bar atmosphere with performance parts, place where all the guys can hang out, and then a shop out behind like a normal performance place owuld be sweet as hell. :jump:
Ya. That is kind of what i was looking at. If nothing else you could come hang and meet other ppl with the same interests as you. Or the Club could get together along with having there rides dynoed etc etc.

Ya I am looking at buying several acres when all the ducks are lined up. Possible test area for vehicles. Say a small road course. There will be a large parking lot for like you said car shows, live bands along with food. It helps having family in the music bizz. It will be a place if you want to come hang out bring the family if you want. I think we can up with something for the women and kids. yeah it needs to have stuff for the rest of the family to keep them occupied I dont have a wife or kid so Im good :lol:
it would be cool to be able to try out products and see results or run yor vehicle to test your performance. a good eatery would be good too with hot waitress's and cars and performance parts inside on the walls.

Ya i have family in the food business also. I have all ready talked to them. They are into getting on board. Looking at maybe a brake testing area along with an area to test 0-60 etc. Things will be added to the lot as we need them for new things.Quote:

If someone could have bought the Auto Nation that's now Cut Rate tackle on Fuqua by the Fox and Hound it would have been the perfect combo. The parking lot is huge the place would have been perfect for weekend hangouts and buisiness on the weekdays. If I could find an out of buisiness dealership like this one and invest $300,000.00 to get me started I'd jump all over it. You could have an Ice house with Hooter type girls serving, full accessory showroom with installation shop in the back, burnout area in the back parking lot, dyno, Holden, Lutz and all the GM big dogs etc......Oh and Asian massage parlor, Jenna Jameson as honorary guest, "Build a LS1 store" like "Build a Bear" in the mall and........Oops, got carried away there. :rofl:
Ya I will be mainly GM. I can work on the others, I just choose not too. I am die hard GM here. Dont get me wrong I will work on any car if the price is right. You got the money I got the time. I do work now for all most every dealership in San Antonio right now, well all the way up to San Marcos actually.

Nah, I do contract work for the dealerships. They Call me up when they need something taken care of. I have worked in transmission shops, Harley shops, Even big rigs. From here to indy. I hate Indy roads talk about jacked up.Quote:

I try to be fair with costs. I have seen places rape people just because they could. I worked in the auto parts business and i have an idea what type of profits they make. Believe me when you walk in to these big chains they are sticking it to you. There is nothing wrong with making money but a 500 percent mark up on somethings is just getting out of hand. Then to have an idiot behind the counter that is clueless just does not equal out. They would not hire people with auto back grounds. Their preference is an individual that does not ask questions. They dont like questions asked that even the district manager can not answer. Ok Ok i think i am done ranting on that. Maybe. I understand if a person does not know and wants to learn. They have a passion for cars but no one has taught them. That is fine but when even the district manager has NO CLUE, there is something wrong. Oh and the funny thing is when the need advice on stuff who gets a call. I should start charging them. They do it to us. Ok i am done for now.Quote:

As far as prices go, i couldnt tell you what should cost what, but sometimes ill ask a question and they get this look on their face like i know what you mean but i dont know what you mean.
