Truck isnt getting spark anymore. im at the end of my rope lol

So im gonna tell the whole story and you guys tell me what you think.

I was getting ready to drop my trans pulled the DS bolts something came up and had to stop, few days later there was a pretty good ice storm coming so I go out to move the truck around as to get all the cars in the shop. Start up the truck drive into the yard hear a loud clunk and im like wtf was that I kill the truck and jump out, the effing drive shaft fell out cus I forgot about the bolts I removed, so truck wouldn't start back up it actually wouldn't do anything. Anyways I say F it cus I didn't have time to hassle with it. So after awhile I get the trans out, and the t case, hook the PRNDL back up and it cranks but wont start, its getting fuel but no spark. So I check all the fuses all good, change relays all good, check ny grounds, good, changed the crank pos sensor, changed the cam pos sensor, changed coil packs, maf, tb, pcm, MFNING SOB still wont fire, now please someone give me anotber idea! Lol

You're sure you checked all your grounds dude? When mine wasn't getting spark it was that one little ground, on the drivers side, bottom of the block.

Yea first place I checked but a ground wouldn't just quit all the sudden

When you say you have fuel did you just check rail pressure or did you see if the injectors are pulsing? Can you crank it and see if a scanner reads rpms?

I pulled a plug and its not sparking fuel is to the rail.

Trans is still out btw prndl is hooked up though

if it's connectd good it will fire without trans
is there any fault in PCM stored ? check it just to make sure

also check the wires from PRNDL to the harness

I hooked up to hpt and no codes I also changed the prndl and pcm.

check hood fuse box for ignition fuses after that make sure all wires from your harness to the coil packs ar good

I'll check em again, but if I cant find something this time im gonna pull the entire harness and check it.

I'm pretty sure you have a bad ground.

That was what I thought but why would it just now do it, im gonna look this weekend but I have a feeling im gonna end up pulling the harness.

Did you check spark for just one coil or multiple? Also did you check to make sure the coils are getting power to them?

I actually changed the coils, no was reading to make sure I was doing it right.

the sensors you changed , were they new or used but in working order? an this has me puzzled as i been thinking what it could be, unless you have a short in the wiring and youre sure your grounds are clean and tight its mind boggling

Ignition relay?

Also might run a jumper wire from the ground on the coil pack main plug to a good ground and see if you get spark

Try ignition relay first if u haven't yet...swap it with some other relay and see what happens

I pulled the relays and put new ones in, how do I do this jumper thing.

Im gonna go over it again this weekend but I already pulled the harness almost completly out to fix a ground wire that didn't need to be fixed but was about a 1% chance it wasn't grounded so I fixed it lol but itll get found this weekend I just needed a few Ideas to check before I tear everything apart.....again

Been a while since i have done this, but try grounding the black wire on the large plug that goes into the main plug on the coil packs, then check for spark.

Bad ground or possibly another sensor keeping the plug from getting the ground signal...cam sensor, map sensor, etc may have a broken or shorted out wire in the harness

Didn't work lol, tomorrow im gonna go over the harness.

Have you tried a new pn switch? Or moving the selector inside the switch and having some one try to start it? Any possible way it could've done something to VSS when drive shaft came out?

Yes ive changed it out, as far as I know the vss wont stop it from starting, but no it looks fine

If it cranks the PRNDL is fine. My bet is a broken wire in the harness somewhere.

You need to see if the computer is reading rpms, do the injectors pulse? That will give you a starting point. If the security light goes out with ignition on its fine.

Hp tuners didn't read any rpms while cranking.

So basically crank sensor isn't getting power

I did but never tried to start it, signal wire from crank sensor to pcm was ripped in half bout halfway up the harness and I have no clue how it happened. It was still covered by the loom.

Glad it was an easy fix!

with your luck does that wire surprise you is the question
