More intake pics
Built the upper half of the down pipe last night.
hell ya looks nice
thanks
you port the intake manifold yourself? if so how'd you do it?
Here r some pics of the intake porting. U can just epoxy the top back on if ur not boosting it. I fiberglassed the inside of the top to keep all those holes sealed up and then I ended up epoxiing the top on then fiberglassed the seams with epoxy resin to help hold it together under boost. I still have to bench test it for boost to make sure it will hold.
I noticed colour on your motor and was wondering what you used as I will be building one in the near future and want to add some colour to mine !!! Looking Good !!!
Just some epoxy primer and base clear. Automotive paint works great if it's kept to a minimal thickness. The only thing u can't paint is the heads or headers. Any color u desire can be applied. Anything in a rattle can is normally garbage. Use proper auto body products.

Nice work!
Thats looking good. What are your goals with this setup, HP, 1/4 mile, ect, ect.
I'm gonna run as much boost as I can on 91 octane for now. I'm not sure what the hp is gonna end up at. I just want a crazy street truck. I'm not too concerned about 1/4 mile times but I'll give er a blast at the track someday for fun. I'd really like to see what hp I end up with on a chassis dyno. Maybe next year I'll add some meth.
more progress pics. Got the inter-cooler pipes all fabbed up. Needed to order some more bends to finish the exhaust and inlet to turbo, so I started dissecting the wiring. Im moving the pcm and harness to clean very thing up. Im taking out all the wiring I don't need (secondary O2s, evap, ac, maf...). The engine bay is gonna look a lot cleaner when im done.
Got the mess of wiring taken car of and now just trying to get all the fabrication done. Built a new airbox that will be supplied with cold air from the bumber, a new coolant expansion tank and an oil catch can. I think I spent more time deciding what and how to build the stuff than the actual fab time. ;)
Nice work; glad to see both sides merging into one. Truck will make some good power and flow very well; and pull the rpm it's supposed to.
Its gonna be interesting to see how she does. Im pretty excited.
If u look back on page one there r some pics and and a brief explanation of the intake porting. PM me if u want more info bud.
Here's a bit of an update. It's been pretty slow going with the project because of family obligations. I finished fabwork under the hood and now in the process of building a custom fiberglass bumper. I'm trying to get all the dirty work done before I pull the engine. I'll try to post some more pics when I get the bumper finished. It's kinda rough right now.
Here is a quick up date on the trubo project. Upgraded to a 76/78 1.15AR turbo, 4l80e trans, and 5" drive shaft

The build looks good.
One thing that catches my eye immediately and I look for; that passenger side header/merge/design.
Not that you need encouragement, but that setup should make some great power!
Give you a baseline to go off: 408, stock heads, tubular headers, same turbo 14psi, 845hp. And that's not on the ragged edge.
Good jog, sub'n for results.
hahaha, we don't tune anymore, damn, just quit this morning :)
sure thing! sounds like it's gonna be a good running truck!
