raise the lifters, which would in turn raise the push rods and also the rocker arms, which would open the valves and help the engine run.
Haha I like what you did there^^^
Basically the LS9 is a big cam comparatively for an OEM. The specs are something like 211/230 .558/.552 122.5 LSA. Which is darn close to some aftermarket cams. I can think of at least one cam that was taken out of production, due to the similarities. It is a good budget cam. However, in a 5.3 you will face the fact that it will move your powerband up substantially. A stall with a speed of at least 3k would be needed to make it effective. Also depending on what year 5.3 you have you will need valve springs, pushrods, and the supporting swap odds and ends. In a stock 5.3 you might gain 40hp all in the upper rpm ranges with some loss of bottomend and it would love boost or spray.
Agree, much better baby cams out there making great power! Id stick to what works n/a not a fi cam in a n/a set up!
Don't do it. Been in a couple trucks with that cam. Not worth it.
Not worth it

Proof its not worth it. This 6.2 truck had it and my stock truck ate its lunch!
Depends on the setup...and correct application.
More than a couple running around with that cam that are extremely impressive (speaking from experience).
I'm assuming you're referring to an NA 5.3L?
If you have a charger on your 5.3L, it'll be decent, but from what you posted, no way in a 5.3L NA engine.
If you're gonna go thru all the trouble of installing an FI cam in an NA engine, get the correct cam.
You'd be better off with an LS6 cam.
The last truck I tuned with this cam in it, felt decent up to 4500rpms, then was a dog after that.
Similar to the other two, had the same feeling and characteristics.
There are mild cams out there that work well with or without chargers, but this one doesn't.

I made the mistake of putting a cam geared towards FI in my truck because I had plans of going with a turbo set up...eventually...
Does my cam (219/230 .607/.604 117+2LSA) perform well in my truck. Yeah its better than stock but it moved the power band way up and I have definitely left a lot on the table with this cam. A cam swap is really easy and I bet you that you will change your mind about the direction you want to take the truck 1023490857 times before you get it where you want it to be so put in a cam that will make it run well now and swap it out if you need to down the road.
